Other Events

From time to time we also advertise other events in the region that are not run by SWGP, but which Partner churches are supporting or involved in. Please view the current listings below:

Youth Event: The Gathering - 'What's the Point?'
Date: Friday, 5th February & 19th March 2021
Venue: Online     Time: 7.30pm-9pm
The Gathering is a youth event for 11-18 year olds that has been running amongst South West Gospel Partnership churches in Bristol over the last year or so. In recent months it has been opened up to churches further afield, as it is being run online.
The livestream will be broadcast over Youtube from 7.30pm. It will be full of games and interviews, together with an engaging talk from the Bible and some time for discussion in your youth group. Most youth groups watch the live stream together via a screen share in a Zoom call.
This term the events will be speaking into the disappointment and disillusionment some young people may be feeling in their faith as the lockdown continues. On 5 February, there will be a talk from Tom Brewer (Trainee Pastor at Widcombe Baptist Church in Bath) on 1 Corinthians 15:1-11. He will be getting the young people to think through What's the point? When Jesus seems to disappoint.
This will be followed up with another event on Friday 19 March, when Ian Taylor (Associate Pastor at Emmanuel Church in Bristol) will be teaching on 1 Corinthians 15:12-28 and getting the young people to think about What's the point? When heaven seems so far away.
If you would like to attend please email [email protected] so that you can be put on the list for the live stream link.
